ABOUT US
PIERU is a non-governmental Human Rights advocacy community-based organization (CBO) whose mission is to promote human rights, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS sensitization, advocacy and empowerment of LGBTIQA+ persons and sex workers in the community through human rights awareness, HIV sensitization, research and advocacy, capacity enhancement and empowerment.
PIERU’s work is directed towards achieving equality, nondiscrimination, promote human rights, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS sensitization, advocacy and empowerment of the most at risk populations and the marginalized groups in Uganda.
VISION
A society where the human rights, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and empowerment of the LGBTIQA+ persons and sex workers are valued, respected and protected.
MISSION
To promote human rights, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS sensitization, advocacy and empowerment of LGBTIQA+ persons and sex workers in the community through human rights awareness, HIV sensitization, research and advocacy, capacity enhancement and empowerment.
